Village of Caldwell Meeting Minutes for March, 2025
The Council for the Village of Caldwell met in regular session on Monday, March 10, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., with the following members present: Rucker, Welsh, Minosky and Postlethwait. Antill and Hopkins absent.
The previous month’s meeting minutes approved as written.
A motion was made by Minosky seconded by Welsh that council has received and reviewed all monthly reports including bank reconciliation, appropriation status, fund status, revenue status, payment ledger and payroll reports to include paying bills including monthly. All in favor motion carried.
Mayor comments: Water plant project ongoing. Pickleball project to begin. Downtown projects to begin with North Street Drainage Project and Revitalization. Devolld’s approached for Village sign at State Route 821/78 intersection discussed with options for payment. Follow up for other options. Discussion held on restrooms for walking tack and skating rink. TC Energy Grant available for application. Apprenticeship program ongoing.
Council discussed Cliff Road erosion with follow up for options.
VA comments: Street Sweeper demonstration with more information to follow. Skating rink panels to be cleaned and removed for summer. Conaway would like to use for a skating board with additional ramps.
Deputy May discussed resident complaints and handling as they come in. Councilwomen Welsh requested he have residents remove trash cans from curbs on North Street.
Council President Postlethwait announced Village Clean up Days to be held May 29, 30 and 31st. Village pickup available on May 29 and 30th.
Motion by Minosky seconded by Rucker supporting State Issue II funding. All in favor, motion carried.
Third reading Ordinance 2025-01 for 2025 Appropriations held.
Second Reading Ordinance 2025-02 for salary increases held.
Second Reading Ordinance 2025-03 for parking ticket revisions held.
Committee Reports:
Finance – Councilman Minosky finances okay. Minosky informed Council he will be absent at the April meetings. Minosky also stated a dedication ceremony will be held June 7 for the Jail Marker.
Service and Safety – Councilman Rucker – Road trimming looks good.
Council also discussed upcoming projects for summer to include walking track and parking lot at Sunset Pond and Pickleball Court.
Motion to adjourn by Rucker seconded by Welsh. All in favor, motion carried.
