Village of Caldwell Council Meeting Minutes for July, 2023

The Council for the Village of Caldwell met in regular session on Monday, July 17, 2023 at 5:00 p.m., with the following members present: Rucker, Saling, Minosky, Welsh and Postlethwait. Antill absent.

The previous month regular minutes approved as written.

Motion by Welsh seconded by Saling that council has received and reviewed all monthly reports including bank reconciliation, appropriation status, fund status, revenue status, payment ledger and payroll reports to include paying bills including monthly. All in favor motion carried.

Mayors comments: Christmas In July Friday July 21, 2023 line up Walnut Street at 5:30. Had meeting with Buckeye Hills for grant/loan information. Meeting went well. Noble Vista Project open for local businesses. Wall That Heals continuing progress.

Village Administrator comments: Sewer Project continuing with progress meeting on Thursday afternoon. Deputy May new officer in Village as Lumpkins resigned from department. Walking Track project progressing. Cemetery building started. Flag ordered. Quote received from Derek Stack on curbs. John Pryor fire hydrant repair.

Kevin White of WLM on West Street approached council questioning why they sent a deputy out to check license plates on vehicles on his lot. White stated that the previous council approved this matter. Mayor Wells stated that parking on sidewalk is unacceptable with White stating customers leave cars there, Councilman Rucker stated to White that the Suburban is blocking view of traffic. White Stated he is a repair facility and according to the Village Ordinance he is compliant. Council to follow up with new deputy on matter.

Motion by Minosky seconded by Postlethwait to accept Resolution 2023-14 accepting rates from Budget Commission. All in favor, motion carried.
