Village of Caldwell Meeting Minutes for June 2026

The Council for the Village of Caldwell met in regular session on Monday June 8, at 5:00 p.m., with the following members present: Rucker, Antill, Minosky, Postlethwait, Griffin and Wyscarver.

            The previous month’s meeting minutes approved as written.

            A motion was made by Minosky seconded by Wyscarver that council has received and reviewed all monthly reports including bank reconciliation, appropriation status, fund status, revenue status, payment ledger and payroll reports to include paying bills including monthly. All in favor motion carried.

            Mayor comments: Downtown revitalization project continuing with extra money allotted for seating areas and electrical updates. Possible money for extra signage. New Benches and trash cans ordered. Met with artist for downtown murals. Water plant project moving forward. New meters continuing to be installed. Waiting to hear if commissioners will receive money for Water Tank Project.

            Councilman Antill raised concerns on pole in front of Peoples Bank. Not handicap accessible.

            Discussion on Cliff Road Project, E-Bike and Golf Cart Enforcement.

            Derick Hesson of 42 Sunset Drive approached council with concerns on his yard repair. Hesson stated that it had been two years and repair work has not been completed. Also, stating Jim Schoeppner yard is also in need of repair from damages done by contractor. Village Administrator Conaway and council assured Hesson that this would be taken care of right away.

            Motion to go into executive session to discuss legal strategies made by Wyscarver seconded by Postlethwait inviting Mayor, Village Administrator and Deputy May. All in favor motion carried.

            Motion to go back into regular session made by Minosky seconded by Wyscarver. All in favor, motion carried.

            Motion by Rucker seconded by Antill accepting Resolution 2026-09 authorizing OPWC application for lift station. All in favor motion carried.

            Motion by Minosky seconded by Postlethwait accepting Resolution 2026-10 increasing appropriations. All in favor motion carried.

            First Reading revise littering ordinance.

            Discussions held on safety to include Pine Trees on Lincoln Drive, Sunset Ponds tree trimming and stump removal, potholes, repairs to roads after digging, curb painting.

            Mayor Wells also discussed paving and tourism money possibilities with the Department of Commerce.

            Motion by Minosky seconded by Griffin allowing a business variance at 1029 Belford Street. All in favor motion carried.

            Motion to adjourn by Antill seconded by Postlethwait. All in favor motion carried.
