Village of Caldwell Council Minutes for June, 2024
The Council for the Village of Caldwell met in regular session on Monday June 10, 2024 at 5:00 p.m., with the following members present: Antill, Rucker, Minosky, Postlethwait, Welsh, and Hopkins.
The previous month regular minutes approved as written.
Motion by Minosky seconded by Welsh that council has received and reviewed all monthly reports including bank reconciliation, appropriation status, fund status, revenue status, payment ledger and payroll reports to include paying monthly and Gerst Tree Removal. All in favor motion carried.
Mayors comments: Water break repair on Kennedy. Ready to wrap up Sewer Project. Relaying concrete on Olive street, unsatisfactory. Water Plant Project and Downtown Revitalization projects continuing. Clerk/Treasurer Ramage added that CDBG project is hopeful close to closure.
Village Administrator comments: Sewer project wrap up. Trash pick-up successful.
Deputy May of the Noble County Sheriff Department reported on complaints, code violations, and adding patrol for Art on the Square. May also introduced Deputy Dillon who is new to the department and May will be training.
Motion by Minosky seconded by Antill accepting Resolution 2024-11 authorizing the mayor to enter into contracts for water plant improvements. All in favor, motion carried.
Committee reports:
Planning/Zoning:
Service/Safety: Antill road patching in need. Rucker road to Caldwell Lake in need of repair.
Finance: Discussion of purchase of tractor at water plant with Clerk/treasurer stating appropriations need review. Expenditures versus revenues in need of review.
Parks/Rec: Basket installation for Disc Gold underway with Wolf Creek Contractor to install launch pads.
Mayor Wells discussed Village Administrator replacement stating she offered the job to Kolby Rayner and he declined.
Motion to adjourn by Minosky seconded by Hopkins. All in favor, motion carried.
